Paulin Hountondji
Paulin Hountondji was a Beninese philosopher who argued for African philosophy as critical debate between individual thinkers. His later work examined how African research could answer local needs rather than outside agendas.

Paris studies
Studied at the École Normale Supérieure, graduating in 1966.

Completed a doctorate on Edmund Husserl in 1970.
