Thutmose III
Thutmose III was an eighteenth-dynasty pharaoh whose campaigns and building projects are recorded in inscriptions and surviving monuments. He died around 1425 BCE.
Early life
Royal parents
Was the son of Thutmose II and Iset.
Child king
Inherited the throne young, with Hatshepsut initially acting as regent.
Career

Became king while still a child.

Took sole power after Hatshepsut’s death.

Led repeated expeditions into the Levant and Nubia.

Enlarged the temple complex and recorded campaigns there.

Commissioned the Akhmenu at Karnak.

Succession
Was succeeded by his son Amenhotep II.

His decorated tomb survives in the Valley of the Kings.
