Suleiman the Magnificent
Ottoman ruler from 1520 to 1566, known as the Magnificent and the Lawgiver. His reign combined military expansion, legal consolidation and patronage of architecture and poetry.
Early life
Dynastic upbringing
Son of Selim I, he received the education expected of an Ottoman prince.

Served as a governor before succeeding his father as sultan.
