Adolf von Baeyer
Adolf von Baeyer was a German chemist awarded the 1905 Nobel Prize in Chemistry for work on organic dyes and hydroaromatic compounds.
Early life
Studies
Studied in Berlin and Heidelberg, working with Robert Bunsen and August Kekulé before completing his doctorate in 1858.

Contributions
Barbituric acid
Prepared the compound later used as the basis of barbiturate chemistry.
