Uroš Macerl

Slovenian organic farmer and campaigner who organised residents against pollution from a cement plant. His legal campaign received the Goldman Environmental Prize in 2017.

Early life

Family farm

Grew up on his grandfather’s farm near Trbovlje and remembered coal dust damaging the land. Took over running the farm at twenty-three.
