Nadia Murad
Nadia Murad is an Iraqi Yazidi human-rights advocate who survived captivity by Islamic State. She shared the 2018 Nobel Peace Prize with Denis Mukwege.
Early life
Kocho upbringing
Grew up in a Yazidi farming community in northern Iraq.
2014 attack
Islamic State attacked her village, killed members of her family and abducted her; she later escaped captivity.
