Isabelo de los Reyes
Isabelo de los Reyes combined journalism, folklore scholarship and political organising. He helped found both a labour federation and the Iglesia Filipina Independiente during the Philippines’ transition between colonial regimes.
Early life
Vigan upbringing
The son of poet Leona Florentino, he spent part of his childhood in the household of writer Marcelino Crisólogo.

Was jailed and deported to Spain during the revolutionary period.

Established the Unión Obrera Democrática.
