Artur Avila
Artur Avila is a Brazilian-French mathematician who studies how mathematical systems evolve. His work connects dynamics, analysis and mathematical physics. He developed his early research in Brazil and later worked in France and Switzerland.
Early life
Rio education
Studied in Rio de Janeiro and won an International Mathematical Olympiad gold medal in 1995.

Entered advanced study at IMPA while young and completed his doctorate there in 2001.
