Yukihiro Matsumoto
Yukihiro Matsumoto, widely known as Matz, is the Japanese creator of Ruby. He combined ideas from several languages into a flexible, object-oriented design. Ruby later reached a global audience, including through the independently developed Ruby on Rails framework.

Tottori childhood
Born in Osaka Prefecture and raised in Tottori from early childhood.
Self-taught beginnings
Learned programming before university, then studied information science at the University of Tsukuba.
