Vladimir Salnikov
Vladimir Salnikov is a Russian former swimmer who represented the Soviet Union. He dominated distance freestyle events and won four Olympic gold medals.
Early life
Leningrad childhood
Began swimming as a child and trained under Igor Koshkin.

Finished fifth in the 1,500 metres in Montreal.
