Early life
Adopted in California
Raised by Paul and Clara Jobs in the region that became Silicon Valley.
College and electronics
Left Reed College but continued attending some classes, including calligraphy; later worked at Atari.

Apple begins
Co-founded Apple with Steve Wozniak and Ronald Wayne.

NeXT and Pixar
Left Apple and founded NeXT in 1985; bought the group that became Pixar in 1986.

Apple return
Returned through Apple's purchase of NeXT and later became interim chief executive.

Chief executive
