Shafiga Akhundova
Azerbaijani composer whose output included opera, operetta and hundreds of songs. She was named a People’s Artist of Azerbaijan in 1998.
Early life
Musical education
Born in Shaki, she studied in Baku with Uzeyir Hajibeyov and continued at the Azerbaijan State Conservatoire.
