Robert Noyce

Robert Noyce helped turn semiconductor research into an industry that could build increasingly complex electronics on small silicon chips. He combined invention with company-building at Fairchild Semiconductor and Intel.

Grew up in Grinnell, building a radio and other mechanical projects while developing an interest in science.
