Pierre Etchebaster

Pierre Etchebaster was a French real-tennis champion who brought experience in Basque pelota to the older indoor racquet sport.

Early life

Basque beginnings

Grew up in Saint-Jean-de-Luz and became a champion in several forms of pelota after military service.

    Took up the sport and became a club professional.

    Defeated Fred Covey in London.
