Patricia Robertson

Patricia Robertson brought family medicine, space-medicine research and piloting experience to NASA’s astronaut corps. Her career was cut short before she flew a space mission.

Early life

Medical training

Studied biology at Indiana University of Pennsylvania and medicine at the Medical College of Pennsylvania before specialising in family and aerospace medicine.

Career

  1. 1995

    Space-medicine fellowship

    Began training with the University of Texas Medical Branch and NASA.

  2. 1997

    Flight medicine

    Joined the Johnson Space Center clinic.

  3. 1998

    Astronaut selection

    Entered NASA’s training programme.
