Naoko Yamazaki

Japanese aerospace engineer and former astronaut who flew aboard Discovery in 2010. Her earlier work helped develop Japan’s space-station laboratory.

Grew up in Matsudo and Sapporo. Earned aerospace engineering degrees at the University of Tokyo in 1993 and 1996.
