Early life

Art history

Studied art history in Madrid and at the École du Louvre in Paris.

Career

    Photographic apprenticeship

    Worked as a photographic assistant at Time-Life in Paris.

  2. 1972

    Viva

    Helped establish the photographers’ agency Viva.

  3. 1983

    Magnum

    Became a full member of Magnum Photos.
