Jack Kid Berg

English boxer known as the Whitechapel Windmill. Held recognition as world light-welterweight champion after defeating Mushy Callahan in 1930.

Early life

East End beginnings

Born Judah Bergman in Stepney to an immigrant family. Worked in a barber’s shop and began professional boxing at fourteen.

Career

    Started boxing at Premierland in London.

    Defeated Mushy Callahan in London.

    Worked with trainer Ray Arcel.
