J. K. Rowling is a British novelist whose Harry Potter books follow a young wizard through school, friendship and conflict. She later expanded into adult fiction, screenwriting and a detective series under another name.
Early life
West Country childhood
Grew up in Gloucestershire and near the Welsh border, writing stories from an early age.
Exeter studies
Studied French and Classics and spent a year in Paris.
Career

Worked in Portugal, then moved to Edinburgh while developing her first novel.
