Ferran Adrià
Spanish chef whose work at elBulli challenged familiar textures, temperatures and expectations. He later shifted from restaurant service to documenting and studying creativity.
Early life
First kitchen job
Began working as a dishwasher at the Hotel Playafels in 1980 and learned traditional cooking there.
Military kitchens
Cooked during military service, where a fellow cook encouraged him to gain experience at elBulli.
