Elías Fernández Albano
Chilean lawyer and politician who held several cabinet portfolios before assuming presidential duties during Pedro Montt’s final illness. His own death followed only weeks after Montt’s.
Early life
Legal training
Born in Santiago, he studied at the Instituto Nacional and the University of Chile and entered the legal profession in 1869.
