David Seymour

Early life

Publishing family

Born Dawid Szymin in Warsaw to a family involved in book publishing. Studied graphic arts in Leipzig and later attended the Sorbonne.

Career

    Freelance photography

    Began working in Paris.

    Spanish Civil War

    Reported photographically from the conflict.

    Magnum

    Co-founded the photographers’ cooperative.
