Charles Barry Jr. was an English architect whose partnerships produced schools, public buildings, houses and railway architecture.

Early life

Architectural family

He was the eldest son of Charles Barry, architect of the Houses of Parliament, and brother of architect Edward Middleton Barry.

Career

  1. 1849–1852

    Bylaugh Hall

    Worked with Robert Richardson Banks on the Norfolk house.

  2. 1866–1870

    Dulwich College

    Designed the New College buildings.

  3. 1876–1879

    RIBA president

    Led the professional institute.
