B. V. Karanth was an Indian theatre practitioner, film director and composer. His career connected travelling drama companies, institutional theatre and cinema.
Early life
Training
Joined Gubbi Veeranna’s theatre company, studied in Banaras and graduated from the National School of Drama in 1962.
Career

Taught at Sardar Patel Vidyalaya in Delhi.

Returned to lead the National School of Drama.

Established the Mysore repertory.
