Anandi Gopal Joshi
Anandi Gopal Joshi earned a medical degree in Philadelphia in 1886 after travelling from India. Tuberculosis ended her life before she could establish a medical practice, but her education became a landmark for Indian women.

Born Yamuna, she was married as a child and renamed Anandi.
