Brno-born composer and pianist whose output included a symphony, songs and substantial piano works. Much of her music remained in manuscript after her early death.

Early life

Multilingual childhood

Grew up speaking Czech, German and English. Gave a piano recital at nine and studied in Vienna and Brno.

Career

    Conservatory study

    Trained as a pianist in Vienna.

    Composition

    Heart problems curtailed performance, and she concentrated on writing music.

Composed a large-scale orchestral work.

Twelve studies, Op. 48

Dedicated the collection to Liszt.
